I don't care who you voted for, just wondering what your prediction is for who wins the election.

I think that Raney wins it due to the fact that when neither candidate really stands out, the incumbent usually wins.

Raney. Fields lost our entire family with his constant desperation moves. He may be a decent guy but his campaign was fit more for high school than state rep.

Raney probably wins. At the least, I give Fields some respect for helping to keep those like Raney in check. Maybe he will think twice the next time he doesn't vote as a true conservative. It is good to remind politicians they can be replaced very easily.

Calling my house every day, multiple times a day and especially on Sunday makes me wonder just how conservative Mr. Fields is. Show some restraint, man. ...

Yes. Because that's a great way to make sure District 14 never has anyone with seniority in a position to do good things for this area. Some of you need to have a better understanding of how politics works. It ain't pretty.

I think Raney takes it. I agree with term limits, but if you voted a state rep out each time it would be on a two-year cycle (they have two year terms). That would give the rep one time in session (legislative session is every other spring). Would be hard to get much done for your district that way.

My suggestion on term limits:

• GOVERNOR: Two, four-year term limits (8 years total)
• STATE SENATORS/STATE REPS: 12-year term limits. State senate elections are held every four years. State representative elections are held every two years. I would keep election schedules for both the same. If re-elected, would provided state senators/state reps up to 6 sessions of work for their district.

Then would be time to move on. Not a fan of career politicians. Not a fan of no term limits.

most of you people have accepted how politics works. In spite of getting screwed time after time after time you keep putting the same people back in office and then complain when they don't follow through on their "promises".....

I'd say until recently it would have been a Fields landslide, since he was aggressively campaigning and Raey was not. But given all that's gone down in the last few weeks and the Raney blitz, I'd say it will be close.

I still give the edge to Fields just because I think his followers are more likely to actually turn out and vote. And while the number of Raney yard signs has increased, it seems to me that Fields still has the edge there.

In addition, this seems to be another "change" election, which would work to his advantage.

I was surveyed by phone about this race last week, but have not seen any poll results. Would like to.

I'm curious, for those of you disappointed in Raney (and I'm not saying I am or am not), what you think he's done or hasn't done re representing the BCS area? I look around and all I see are pretty much positive developments for both the towns and the Big School.

And just remember, a freshman House member has zero power, or influence, in that chamber. None. All these promises will only be achieved by joining a majority of other House members. I can't remember the last time a freshman House member got a piece of serious legislation through that chamber.

I think Raney wins because he is the incumbent. However, I will voting for Fields because Fields didn't make Raney vote the way he did. Raney is responsible for his voting record and it's terrible. No way in the world should we have a liberal representative. He will eventually meet the same fate at Edwards.

Because ideological purity (real or perceived), and not results, are what now matters most in this day and age.

If that is the case, then I make a motion to always honor a college athletic coach's contract. As long as the graduation rate is excellent and no violations, then simply wait until the contract reaches deadline.

So, did anyone hear anything in this campaign about the district? All I heard was border, abortion, guns, religion, etc.

I confess that the ads made me not want to watch the forum.

Don't forget "I'll stop obama!" That's a good one as well that is used a lot at the state level, which I find very humorous.

Now Flores is full on involved in this thing. Apparently he texted Fields saying "If you don't behave I'll go to the media about you" Hahaha.

I think Raney will win tomorrow.

Too late to have much real effect on the campaign, but anyone with any sense knows that not only calling an intern, but the Chief of Staff of sitting member of the US House of Representative, liars, is playing with fire, but to take it to the next level and go toe to toe with the Representative himself shows an incredible lack of judgment and self awareness. Absolutely stunned that a politician in the midst of a campaign would even consider such a thing.

Just cop to it, apologize, and the story is DOA before the next morning's papers hit the stand. Instead, this mess.

Politics has never been a calm arena, but the tactic of spreading lies & innuendo and using half-truths and flat out lies is pretty low. The campaigns know this works to an extent because once someone has aligned with a candidate, it is difficult to dissuade them and with social media speeds, fires spread quickly. Once the election is over, if the truth turns out to be different....oh well...
The naked ambition by a certain candidate in pursuit of power is somewhat alarming. Be steadfast in your honesty and your agenda, but if one does not understand the power of the olive branch in serving the people, then try a different career.

Since people care more about likability than policy, Raney wins.

How would you know? Unless someone tells you for whom they voted, and why, you are speculating.

Local pastor I know will not vote Raney because of his votes in favor of stem cell research. Way too liberal for me too, but regrettably he will win.

I don't like Raney but the Fields ad on the radio as I pulled into the parking lot to vote got me to vote for Raney. The Raney ad as I was leaving had me regretting it.

Am I the only one who laughs bitterly when I hear the same people talk about spending too much in one breath and then about throwing money at a border wall in the next one?
