My opinion, in that order

The bread just ruins the Harvey Washbanger. An American Classic on an oversized sweet bun....meh.

Koppe is good
Chicken is good
Moo yah is good
Cafe Eccell actually has a couple really good burgers

The burger at Mallet Bros in Navasota is damn good as well

I heard that today at work. I should have tried it.

New place called Big Mo's makes a good old fashioned burger but the fries are horrible

Yankees is meh. Stiff patty

Grubb is my favorite right now but still new in town. Love their blue cheese burger.

Koppe bridge I tried based on word of mouth, I was very underwhelmed.

Chicken oil pretty solid bar burger not bad but basic.

World of Beer tried the Chimay burger and had high expectations, Fuddrucker was better.

Smitty K's surprisingly good basic bar burger.

Proudest Monkey trying tomorrow night.

The definitive list of local good old-fashioned greasy hamburgers. Everything else is a ground beef patty sandwich, which may or may not be tasty in its own right. No weird buns or strange toppings allowed.

Good list. Haven't tried Joe's Place. Margie's was good but the wife found a cricket leg in her tea. It was during one of the infestations a few years ago. I found it funnier than she did.

Think the burger at Edge general store with a jalapeno bun is hard to beat.

I personally like Koppe Bridge. And Stover Bros.

Grubb is way overrated
Washbangers is excellent

and this might be in the minority for sure but Denny's puts out a damn good burger to me. Their Slamburger is legit

Has anyone tried the SmashBurger on campus? I have tried one in Kuwait. It was excellent.

going to Mooyah on Fri. night with family for dinner. let's hope it's good. how are their onion rings?

Mooyah is good. Prepare to leave smelling like burgers, though. Definitely better to get your food to go.

Wolfies has a pretty darn good burger!

Not in the Brazos Valley, but the best burger I have had is at the small gas station at Dobbin on the way to Conroe. Lot's of people here go that direction, so try it. You won't be disappointed.

The corner store at the corner of 105 and Hwy 6, the south intersection, also makes a good one. I think they use the same bun as Washbangers does.

My current favorite is the cheeseburger on a jalapeo bun from the Edge General Store. Joe's Place is always good.

I agree it CAN be really good but they are really really inconsistent. I've gone in there and had GREAT food, and gone in there and been like "that wasn't very good today".

It's interesting to note that Chicks/Stripes is no longer really in the discussion in all this. If you woulda asked the board 2 years ago they definitely woulda gotten a few mentions. I feel like the quality of that burger has definitely come down since the Stripes takeover. Maybe I"m just imagining it but I don't go there near as much as I used to.

I'm a freakin dufus for leaving out Margie's....really good.

Washbangers way overrated though. Actually it's just not good. I won't waste my $ on another.

Washbangers is getting new buns in soon (they might have already). They're a custom recipe made to order from a bakery in Houston. They should be awesome.

I like Koppe's burgers with a Texas Toast bun.

Never heard of Yankees. Where tis ?

In Carlos, at the corner of the road that leads into Gibbons Creek Reservoir.

Razoo's has a decent Angus burger, if you find yourself there & not in the mood for anything Cajun.

Forgot about Frank's jalapeo burger

Mooyah has been hit or miss for us as well.

Hilley's in Navasota used to have a good burger too.

I'm with ya on that... reason I don't like single patty Whataburgers - too much bread. I've gone to the Jr. Double. Same amount of meat but smaller bun.
