Haven't been to BCS without the kids in years. Am coming in this weekend with my wife for the Auburn game. Does anyone have bar & restaurant recommendations for the 30-40 age range?

Try downtown Bryan - Murphy's or the bar & grill at the LaSalle. Downtown Uncorked good as well.

In College Station, maybe Fox & Hound or Blackwater Draw.

We always liked obannon's earlier in the night, but on a game weekend, it'll be packed to the gills.

Higher end bars: Republic. If you are into wine then Veritas, but their mixed drinks are very hit and miss.

Northgate: West End Elixer Co definitely caters to an older crowd. Carneys for beer and Rough Draught for whiskey attracts older patrons but a lot of students as well.

Downtown Bryan: Downtown Uncorked, Proudest Monkey, Murphy's Law are pretty much your only choices. Mostly older crowd with some students.

Cafe Eccell is good; nice expanded bar area, great wine and spirits list and decent beer (could be better here). Definitely an older crowd destination.

I know I'm late but be aware that indoor smoking is allowed in Bryan but not in College Station if that matters to you.

Depending on what you mean by "older," Margie's Bar & Grill in downtown Bryan might do. The median age of patrons there appears to be 75.

It's the bar's decision in Bryan. I'm pretty sure Murphy's allows it, though I haven't been in a while, not sure about Proudest Monkey and Downtown Uncorked.

Most of the bars in downtown Bryan don't allow it. Murphys is one of the few exceptions.

LaSalle's bar must have a problem. Had a "no alcohol by order of TABC " sign last Thursday.
