Guh, I eat so much soup. Such is the life of a vegetarian who doesn't really like sandwiches and is willing to look the other way in the face of chicken broth so as to not be an ******* at restaurants.
Blue Baker's cheddar tomatillo and roasted red pepper bisque are good. Broccoli cheddar there is bland, and tomato is thin and inconsistent.
Cuco's has an awesome veggie tortilla soup (no meats! but i suspect the broth is chicken).
McAllister's has veggie chili if you're just too lazy to make some yourself. Other soups I've tried are not very good.
Panera's soups are pretty good, but salty. Their black bean soup and broccoli cheddar pretty tasty, though. I'm getting phantom sodium swells thinking of them.
Village has good daily soups, and so does Washbangers - but no tasty crusty bread or garnish or anything.
Blackwater has a really good beer cheese soup, and while the experience there is extremely hit or miss, the soups I've had have all been total hits. There was this (winter) squash one that was amazing, and tasted like something I'd make at home. Dang, it was so good.
Aaaalso, it's totally awesome soup making weather! Pull out the extra big LC dutch oven and simmer up something way better than the meager offerings here, if you're into that sort of stuff!
