This just out from CSPD:

The College Station Police Department is currently working an incident involving the attempted abductions of two females since 0600 this morning in the city. It is believed that the same suspect was involved in both incidents and we are requesting assistance in locating the suspect and suspect vehicle at this time.

The suspect vehicle is described as being a red 2004 Mazda M3H with Texas LP DHH0520. Vehicle is described as a hatchback or crossover type of vehicle.

Suspect is described as being a Hispanic or dark complexion white male approximately 5’6”-6’, med to heavy build, wearing a grey or white t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600 or 911. The public is cautioned to not approach the subject, but rather call authorities immediately.

Can we get more info about the kidnapping attempts? Like was he trying to kidnap adults or children? From their homes or were they out for a run or on a playground or something? What part of town?

Just be alert and watch for that vehicle. It wouldn't matter if you knew where it originally happened anyway. If the bad guy was still in the same spot he would be in custody.

The College Station Police Department has sighted the suspect vehicle in the Wellborn area. The public is asked to avoid the area and to report any sightings of the suspect or suspect vehicle to authorities immediately. The public is cautioned to not approach the suspect but rather contact 911 immediately

Greens Prairie Elementary and Forest Ridge Elementary are currently in a shelter in place due to a suspected kidnapping subject on foot in the Wellborn area. At dismissal, Greens Prairie students will be released to their parents only. Walkers and bike riders will be held at the campus until further notice. Buses will be delayed until further notice.

The College Station Police Department has obtained a warrant for the arrest of a suspect in connection with the Aggravated Kidnapping reported to this agency at approximately 0620 hrs this date. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the following person:

Kenneth Wayne Connor
White male
24 years of age

As of 1536 hrs, officers with the College Station Police Department and multiple assisting agencies were able to locate and take Connor into custody in the area of Straub Road and Wellborn Road.

Further details regarding all of these events will be forthcoming at a later time.

Suspect is now in custody.
