How do YOU pronounce Brazos?

So if you can pronounce it in Spanish you have the pronunciation correct.

the Brazos and Colorado rivers were mistaken for each other by numerous explorers. the original brazos was clear, where the colorado was muddy and red.

Yup. At least ours are easy--you don't know what you're doing, you'll completely butcher Houston's road names (KIRK-EN-DAHL, and it's FEWK-WAY, not ****-WA)

That really brings back memories; I lived near Fuqua and everybody mispronounced it. But it took me quite a while to figure out Huiache was pronounced "wee-sach"- in my defense, we moved to Bellaire when I was in grade school

I believe that the proper pronunciation of Villa Maria Rd is Veeya Maria. The road was named after the Villa Maria Academy in Bryan which is where the road ends. Apparently the nuns pronunced it Veeya Maria.

This is correct.
Looks like Palacios but sounds like Palashus.
