This is the 3rd time in a week that a low flying helicopter has flown over our house in Raintree.

Twice at night and once during the day.

Any idea what's going on?

Just heard the same in south Cs and was wondering about it. Saw a black one a few days ago earlier in the day.

Probably going to/coming from The Med or Joes. They do transports and have incoming patients from outside the area, so you may never hear about it in the news if it's a wreck or something.

Congrats.

One of your neighbors is:

- a spy
- a wanted fugitive
- running a drug lab
- said bad things about the government on the Politics Board and is now learning that karma is, indeed, a real thing

AgGunNut it was definitely not a hospital copter. I park near the copter pad at work and see it fly off from my office. The one tonite shook the house.

Is it the Sheriff's secret police? Those are blue helicopters.

Heard it too. Happened a couple yrs ago too and it was explained as a military training activity at the time. This time it wasnt nearly as loud or low to ground tho so might be something different.

We're further South, but I've seen an uptick in the helicopter flyovers myself. I just figured it was the path one would take between Easterwood and the Houston area. Acouple are privately owned like Sumlin's Swagcopter, and Bush 41 coming up/heading back from at event at his library. Most have been PHI and the St Joe one. Then, of course you see the occasional military variants.

Carpe,

They're hovering. Doubt if they are for transportation.

I was in Raintree last night...and they flew right over well after 10PM. Weird, to say the least, especially considering how late it was...very low, very slow, and very loud.

Military helicopter pilots like using BCS to practice in and around because they need a civilian area that has a big enough airport, but not so big that there are tons of air traffic.

Houston/Austin etc are too big. This area gets used a lot to train pilots.

I also know that some choppers develop "mechanical problems" while in CS, which just happens to be a college town, which is full of college girls........don't ask me how I know.

I heard they are filming for a relaunch of "Airwolf".

Ok, I didn't hear that, I made it up. But people talked about Papadeux for years on here, and that turned into a reality. So, come on "Airwolf"!

Next time just light them up with a spotlight. Someone will be along directly to let you know who operates the helicopter.

The approach for Easterwood has changed recently.

Easterwood, disaster city, and tamu frequently host military, government, and civilian helicopter air traffic.

An air ambulance under way/under load and an air ambulance taking off/landing have little in common when it comes to noise and downward force. That's like saying you live next to a garage so you know what a car sounds like going 200mph.

It could have been a multitude of things, for a great many reasons. Some helicopters are loud. Some times they fly low and fast. I will never understand why people post on here every couple weeks freaking out over seeing or hearing things fly through the air.

Spend more time on this board.
You still won't understand it, but you will accept and ignore it.

It took me ~2 years of getting banned to quit posting common sense on the lost dog threads.
Now I just don't click them.

I know.

I ted to enjoy the "what is that airplane buzzing my house" threads when it's mid-day and if they just looked outside they would see the usual c130 doing touch and go's or the other typical craft flying training missions.

I'll admit I was guilty of one thread when I couldn't ID the aircraft. At first it looked like a F18, but as they flew past, not being able to make out the tail, and probably being a super hornet what the extended wing/chine, I also thought it/they met be F16s.
I posted asking if anyone knew what they were.

Had a helicopter hovering over my house once and when I looked out my back window, I saw cops tramping through my yard. I walked out to ask what was going on. They said an Alzheimer's patient had wandered from home and they were looking for him.
