My husband I ate lunch at the new Country Cafe in Wellborn today. Very nice people and they are new owners (they don't have anything to do with the previous owners). I had the chicken fried steak plate and my husband had the catfish lunch special ($6.99). They were both very good, homemade and very generous portions. Please give them a try! The lady said that eventually they will be a bakery, too.

They had burgers, a variety of sandwiches, a couple salads, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken (I think), steak, etc. This is what I remember.

Didn't take long for the space to fill after Outlaw Jack's closed. Hope they can keep things running a bit longer. Look forward to trying it.

Outlaw Jack's actually closed twice. Once earlier in the year and then they attempted a grand re-opening a few months back that worked for a week or two and then closed again...or something along those lines.

Anyone else checked this place out yet? Anything non-fried by any chance?

Previous posted mentioned salads, sandwiches, burgers and steak. Seemed like several non fried options.

We had sandwiches, salads and kid meals tonight. All very good. The owner's mom was there helping out and said she owns a Mexican good restaurant in Somerville. Prices are reasonable and I hope it is successful. Great to have another good option in Wellborn.

Does the place have a webpage or facebook? Would love to know more about it.

Just ate at Country Cafe in Wellborn and I will definitely go back and refer with an A+ to everyone on what I experienced:

-Great service
-Great food (Chicken Fried Steak / Mac & Cheese / Fried Orka)
Everything was awesome!
Also, better be hungry because portions are large!
Breakfast menu served all day for those that desire that route, however didn't order so can't brag on it ....... like I will do on what I ordered tonight!
Glad to have good restaurant south of town!

I think that DDMover walked in as I was picking up my order.

We had the chicken fried steak and the catfish. Made the mistake of ordering 2 CFS thinking we would not have enough. I now have 1 catfish filet and 1 CFS for lunch tomorrow.

Owners extremely nice.
Took it to go so I can't speak to the service.
CFS was amazing! Breading was perfect.
Catfish was pretty dang good too. Huge filets.
Tasty mac & cheese
Okra was good, but would have been better if it had not traveled 10min.

She said that they now have a Facebook page and she gave me a menu.

Pretty sure that breakfast is only on the weekends, but all day as stated above.

I will definitely be back to try the burgers. They make their own buns. Sourdough all the time and she said that she will do special breads on a rotating basis. Right now it is jalapeno cheddar.

She is watching MyBCS reviews so all I have to say is Great Job and Good Luck!

Another good experience. Ordered to-go and got chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. They were both really good but the chicken stood out as excellent. Perfect batter. Sides were good with great mashed potatoes. Good value for the price. Food was ready fast and person working register was friendly. We mostly cook in but order to-go from cotton patch and other similar places on occasion. This will be taking their place for the country food spot.

Constructive criticism- Hit up the city or whoever is responsible to fix the crater in the road when exiting the drive. The gravy had a slight sweet/ vinegary twang to it that I found odd. Some might like it and that's simply personal opinion.

Looking forward to trying the breakfast.

Do they have weekend breakfast ? Not a lot of good options in CS.

Tried this fabulous place over the holiday and couldn't have been happier with the customer service and food selection!

Glad to have another option south of town.
