I haven't lived in B/CS for a long while. I have a friend going there for work and was interested in catching some live music. Where are the good places for bands/singers performing original music. No cover bands. More along the lines of Texas country music.

The Grand Stafford--http://grandstaffordtheater.com/. Nice venue with a good variety of performers.

I second the Stafford. Just check the website to see the schedule because they have everything from Texas Country to Hard Metal. The nice thing about the Stafford is that most people who go there are there to see the band, not drink and holler and yell.

I've been to the Tap twice this summer to see some Texas Country folks and it was also pretty decent. I don't know if it will get unbearable when the students get back into town though.

Lake Bryan Icehouse is popular as well.

Terrazzo has been hosting some events also.

Herschel's at The Stella has live music on Friday and Saturday from 9pm-11pm.
