Still out, near Jose's as well.
Out for 9 hours, just came back on for me. BTU is really sucking lately. Second time in less than a week it's been out for 4+ hours.
Considering this happened in the middle of the night/morning on Sunday I'm amazed they got things up and running when they did.
What are the chances of them providing a credit on my bill for any perishables that may have spoiled?

No chance at all. I tried that once, and their reply was basically "pay the bill as is or we'll cut off your power."
Well now, its not like they caused the power outage. That would be a different matter I think.
Which is what sells $5K NG-fueled generator installs.
At least BTU can absolutely assert that you will not be billed for the time the power was out of service--unlike certain local cable providers <rabblerabblerabble> .

Dang, you are all my neighbors I guess... I live just behind Jose's, finally got power around 6PM...
Fleen do you ever have traffic issues with all the senior citizens piling in to Jose's for the "early bird special?" Just something I notice a lot.
My power came back on at 1-ish...that's bizarre that it took another 5 hours for yours. A neighbor and I did a walk-round our area and noticed sooooo many potential future trees-falling-on-power-lines hazards...far too many to make a list of. If we ever get the remnants of a hurricane up here, that generator idea may be a very very good one.

Back in December, I had a mature tree fall in my back yard and take out power/cable/phone...
And yes, traffic can be sketchy around 'early bird' time...
My power was out for just over 7 hours. No explanation, nothing in the media outlets. But what are you going to do? They have you in a vise and they know it. BTU bites for sure.
It took 12 hours until I finally spoke to a human...
We should have a North Oakwood Happy Hour at Jose's...
Please remember that's someone's husband, father, son, or brother out there in that storm working as hard as they can to get your power back on. Instead of complaining about big bad BTU next time, why not say a prayer for their safety.
Bryan Gal, as someone that has worked the line, I think its safe to say most here are supportive of the BTU workers that work tirelessly to keep power running...
