Note: Cash, checks, AND credit cards accepted at the Master Gardener sale.

Both of these sales usually have a good variety of vegetables, herbs, and ornamental plants. Master Gardener sale typically has passalong and heirloom plants as well.

Edit to update plant list link and credit card info.

What are the prices like?

Usually $2-$10 per item, I think, with larger items going for more than that. I seem to remember seeing a large container of maroon bluebonnets at last year's Hort Club sale for $15. But that was a mass of flowers in a nice container.

The Hort Club sale has more of the nursery type plants (because the students order them and the sale gives them Hort sales experience). The Master Gardeners sale tends to have more plants started from seed or cuttings, heirloom variety, etc., although they also order plants for the sale.

I think both sales will take credit cards, but bring cash and/or checks just to be safe.

A&M sale has never taken cards, only cash and checks.

There is an ATM machine in the parking lot.

And thank you Kendall Rogers for the clarification re: credit cards.

Me too! We went out of town last weekend so I missed the TAMU sale.

Also, there is a nice (though not large) stand of bluebonnets at the Extension office...photo op!

One more bump for the sale tomorrow.

I checked the plant list and vegetables include peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes. Lots of mint, basil, oregano, and other herb varieties as well. Ornamentals include salvias, lantana, butterfly plants, roses, bulbs...should be a good variety.

Cash, checks, AND credit cards accepted - I checked. There is also a map w/ directions on the Master Gardener Facebook page.
