Does anyone know if Kobe on University Drive is now closed? Drove by today and it looked like they were moving out. I tried to call the number listed on their website and no one answered.

Did some work disconnecting kitchen equipment monday, owner said moving but wouldn't say where or when they planned on being back in business. I have my doubts about about them re-opening.

I ate there monday night (in the middle of their saws-all work :-/ ), the sign on the door said they were moving (I forget the name of the new location but it is an existing oriental restaurant) and would reopen April 1 - no joke.
Oh, "Haiku"--gotcha (was trying to figure out why the sketchy joint in McKinney was going to be any great loss).

Wait - so their location by the old Albertson's is closing and they're moving their operation to Kyoto? How depressing.
I think from what I have heard is that the shopping center has gone under. Everyone pretty much has moved out. Hope somebody takes it over. Hate to see that become rundown like Chimney Hill. That stretch of University is starting to look bad. Hate to see that.
Hate to see blight along a major route to the University. At least all the development around NG will put a new sheen on things for a few years.

Blight to me implies utter ruination and a slim possibility of renewal and development. I suspect new businesses will move into that area.

Blight is empty store fronts. For College Station anyway.
CS has it's own definition of what constitutes blight? Is that in the city charter?

It's a commonly accepted definition.

I think Kobe closed the doors due to his injury of the achilles. Some may differ.
I heard they are moving to the Tower Point area.
How can Kobe be moving to Tower Point when they can't even afford to keep the doors of Kyoto Sushi open for lunch?
I think that was a joke, to get the Tower Pointies excited.
I loved both of those places. So what's the best sushi place in town now?
IMO, Veritas or 40 Tempura.
