The search function isn't working for me. We will probably end up going to the mall but I wondered if there was anywhere else in town to get pictures done (especially somewhere that we might could include the pup)?

Unfortunately, we completely forgot to take them when we went to Santa's Wonderland before Thanksgiving. Kicking myself for that one!

Although it isn't a lot of help for you this year it might give you a head start for next year. We try to find random Christmas celebrations that have Santa appearances at local businesses. They usually allow you to take your own picture and the wait is usually much shorter.

Last year we went to Coufal-Prater's big Santa event. This year we went to Kolache Rolf's Santa event (which had the Santa from Wonderland). Keep your eyes out next year!

So far keeping up with local retailer's Facebook presence has helped us find what we need in this regard.

The last two years, Christmas at the Creek has been the first two weekends in December, and the second weekend was pet night where you could have your pet's picture taken w/ Santa. They will let you use your own camera. I believe the Mall also has a few pet nights. Earlier in the season mall Santa usually isn't busy.

You could always do what my Dad did and dress up as Santa (or have a friend do the honors) for pictures. I still remember watching Santa *walk through my front door* and thinking he looked & sounded like my Dad. Really messed w/ my head!

I have NO idea where one would get a Santa suit right now though.
