Just saw a second ad for Pappas Co. for a College Station manager. Any ideas?

My idea-sounds like they are trying to hire a manager. Crazy, I know.

Pappas owns fudduckers I believe...and that's where they were looking for a manager at. Sad news I know.

I said it in the last thread and I'll say it again.

The Regional Manager for Fuddruckers is looking for a manager. He told me a few weeks ago. He also said he like their association with Pappas.

Pappas owns Fuddruckers and Luby's.

Can we start a petition to have Papas put a papasitos here...? Really, I have been waiting for that for years...

We are not getting Pappas places (except for the afore-mentioned ones they own) here, period. We are however, almost certainly getting more burger and fried chicken places.

We need a papasitos if for nothing else to shut down half the mexican food places in town so they will get replaced by something else...

FWIW, the Pappas family also owns some property near Best Buy. They have Lupe Tortillas, the abandoned Texaco & Aggieland Cycling (according to Brazos CAD). Not sure if they have any affiliation with the businesses, likely just leased out.

Uh...the way Fowl Digits was supposed to have shut down Layne's and Raising Cane's?

Lupe's was supposed to do that, but once it opened everybody on here said it was bad. Tony Roma's failed to live up to its billing, too. I suppose big time chains can't live up to our local expectations. The Pappas family is smart to keep their flagship restaurants away from BCS.

I agree with techno-ag.

I know several dozen folks that would keep a papasitos in the black by themselves...

As far as chicken... the appetite for this seems to be unending around here.

And no chain or mom and pop compares to papasitos, no way no how.

I'd prefer a Pappadeux myself...Veritas and Fish Daddy's could use a little competition in the seafood market.

I would be happy about that too.

I could be added to that list (except for the you-knowing the folks part)

I agree with this as well. My very frequent trips to Houston usually result in a dinner from either the two places mentioned above or Hooters.

You really think these two places are in direct competition with one another?

No, and I didn't say they were. But Pappadeux could and would compete with both, on different levels.

I think is would be awesome if we could get a Pappasitos here. I dont think they would shut down or hurt our local chains. It would just be nice to have something different. Every restaurant whether it be Tex-Mex, Italian, Casual, BBQ have their own destinct flavor. I love Pappasitos down in Houston & would enjoy it and our already local restaurants.

Dang...y'all wrecked that dream. Makes sense though. I'd heard that Pappasitos wants something like 500,000 people living within a few miles to justify the expense and commitment.

Yeah, we don't meet their demos. But hey, at least we have Luby's & Fuddrucker's, right?
