Mr. Bill was a wildly popular tutor back in the day, people would stampede to get into his Chem study sessions before exams.
He was a character to say the least.

I remember going to a few of his tutoring sessions in the early nineties. Sorry, I don't have any Mr. Bill stories. Is he still there doing tutoring?

He is the reason I made an A in Chem 101/102. Also, because of him I got to skip all of 101/102 and only show up on test days.

Rings a bell. Though I only remember Ali at A+. Is he still around?

I heard that he used to tell kids there was a fully operationl quantum computer in the basement of Zachry.

Also heard he used to bust in on CHEM 107 lectures and berate the teaching prof.

My personal favorite was "that turd won't flush". I aced organic chem. because of that guy.

I never went to class and passed because of him. Heard some interesting stories about him putting a"bomb" sown a toilet at his high school in Dallas. He was a character indeed!!!

Not just chem 107. He showed up in the class I taught. We had a long staring contest, until he finally got up and left. I never saw him again.

Mr. Bill was something else. I never took his review courses but I knew him personally. Entertaining, smart guy. Eventually, I grew up and well....he opted out of that process. Maturity is overrated, he told me. He was probably right---he was right about a lot of stuff.

I remember Mr. Bill. What happened to him?

Late 90s when Viagra was "new," he'd come to sessions all hopped up and wired - said stuff like "like a horse" while making pumping motions with his arms. Guy was a trip.

He taught us the fastest way to get smashed. Fill up a vaporizor with Everclear and run it in a closet. Walk into the closet, close the door, and hang out for 10 seconds or so. He did warn us not to stay longer than that as you may not make it out otherwise.

My roommate went to his study sessions for Chem....I don't know, Organic maybe?

When the market crashed in '87 or '88, Mr. Bill showed up to a tutor session wearing all black. He had evidently lost his butt in the stock market that day.

I'm not sure what ever became of that guy. He made some good money with his gig.

Went to him for Chem 101/102 & O-Chem - I remember him teaching up front and Ali taught in the back.

I remember the last time I saw him - he was sitting on the curb outside of Fatburger. I had to take a second look because I didn't recognize him at first. He had probably lost at least 50 pounds and was extremely thin. Looked depressed to be completely honest - and I felt a sense of loss that day.

I asked around and there were rumors of a death in the family - who knows what really was going on, but he was gone soon after. This was in 2002/2003 - I have not seen him since - nor have I heard anything about him.

There were always a lot of rumors going around about him. Millionaire/Alcoholic/Womanizer/Honorary Doctorate/etc etc etc - To me, he was the rare combination of funny & cool & brilliant. I aced those classes due to A+ and have often wondered what happened to Mr Bill

i went to Mr Bill in the fall of 1999. He would wear the same clothes for days on end; shorts, t shirts, and flip flops. He would be covered in chalk, b/c he would always erase the board with his hands, and wipe them on his clothes.

I remember he said one time that the soviets were able to rip holes through space. They would just tear a hole behind a political figure, stab them in the back, then jump back through the hole.

Apparently he was working on something like that, but everyone said he was crazy, and it fell through.

Dude was a genius.

Would love to know what became of him.

last I heard he had a job "at a company in Dallas".
