Hubby wants a Texas A&M watch like the ones sold at Douglas Jewelers. I don't particularly like them ("yellow" gold over silver). What do you think?

I looked at A&M Tags...ouch. He doesn't like the athletic types at Aggieland Outfitters and wants something more "formal" or dressy (that's the way I see it). Has to have A&M somewhere on it (I offered to use a sharpie...not gonna work).

Any suggestions? Any help? I'd prefer to pay under $400, but I'm flexible. TIA

I saw someone wearing a Fossil watch recently with maroon face and logo. Not the fanciest but it was nice.

I got my husband this watch for graduation in '06
Other than a battery change or two, it's been a great watch, and he gets lots of compliments on it.

I'm with you, Sam - not a big fan of the oversized and overmetallic watches, I prefer leather bands on men myself - I think the metallic look too much like jewelry and a bit more feminine, even when they are man-sized.

But, that being said, if hubby wanted a specific one, I would probably end up getting it for him. That's what I'm hoping he does with the Land Rover I want - I don't want him subbing an Explorer for it! I think those Seiko ones are, like Elsie said, supposed to have a really good track record - I've known a few people who had them and loved them.

TXElsie - is that a Seiko? It's pretty similar to the one @ Douglas Jewelers which carries the watch in Seiko brand and their "Douglas" brand (higher priced).

if you want a nice a&m watch, i would go with seiko. the detail on the dial is really nice. and the one they sell at aggieland outfitters is nice too. i have seen them both

Fossil, maroon face, silver band, aTm at 12 position, tripple internal dials... LOOOVE it.. great dress watch...

Sam, try to get a sapphire crystal glass on the watch. I love the look of fossil watches but they don't use sapphire crystal and I scratch them all the time. Real pain in the butt to do that and it ugs up a dress watch. I will let you scratch mine with a nail or scissors if you want proof.

Rolex copy. Those look cheap.

Powerbelly, are you saying a seiko looks like a fake rolex or just a comment on how rolex copies in general look cheap?

The watch looks cheap because it is, compared to the real thing. I would rather take the money spent on the seiko and find a watch in the same price range that has some uniqueness to it.

Ha, I never really noticed, but I see the resemblance. I don't wear a Seiko so I had never looked at them in detail.

I agree with the sapphire crystal. I just don't like the watches I've seen so far. I guess it's his choice. (Just hate to pay a few hundred bucks for a shiny "yellow" watch; he wants gold/goldish because he wants to match his Aggie ring...go figure.)

This is what I'd like to get for him. Can't afford it though. Wish I'd shopped in Grand Cayman for this when we were there. Anyone know how to get a TAG cheaper?

If that is what he really wants, why not save up and buy it at a later point.

I also think that David Gardner's Jewelers has a watch similar to the tags that may be a little less expensive.
