We need something starting in July or first of August and looking to lease for at least 12 months.

Check online: Century 21, BCR realty, Equity real estate, on-line real estate, worth residential, aggieleasing.com, brazosland, Twin City Properties, aggieland leasing, brazos valley rentals, connective realty, celtic properties, way point. (I'll be moving in the fall...been taking down names. I have pretty much no experience with any of them, but you should be able to search for their sites, and see what they have. or call and tell them what you're looking for and when. : ) Good luck and welcome!

nah, the new ones out on the east side of University are awesome.

There are some decent houses in our neighborhood for rent. Off of Brandenburg and Graham in Edelweiss Gartens. All different companies. There are several on Dresden.

I have one on the corner of Dallis and Rock Prairie near the MED for $1200/month, 4 beds, 2 baths, porch, fenced back yard, W/D/frig are supplied.

Craigslist is a joke. Be careful. I saw a 2 bedroom house for lease in Castlegate that faced a river. It was only $800 a month. The owner was about 6000 miles from College Station. He asked for all kinds of details, like Social Security numbers.

The other joke is the chronic spammers on Craigslist. You can report or flag by looking at the top left of the corner.

I emailed about 20 of the leading rental realtors and received about three responses. I think the broker or owner of the agency could see increased contracts if agents produced or simply responded to emails. Lots and lots of opportunity missed.

Craigslist definitely has its share of spam but most of it is very easy to see right past.

I like craigslist because you are often dealing directly with the owner of the property. None of this dealing with leasing agents that deal with property managers that deal with the owners BS. Too much space for issues with that many hands in the pot. See your example about emailing 20 people and barely getting a response.

Original texan, did you try aggieland apartment finders?

Bklyn, I would recommend driving around Edelweiss Gardens and surrounding area. There are about three times as many houses for rent as show up on any search engine online. Most are 3/2 and many are about $1200 per month. Some streets in Edelweiss have 8-9 houses with "for rent" signs out front. Good luck!
