Roy R. Luepnitz, Ph.D. has been proudly living and contributing to Bryan, TX; College Station, Brazos Valley, and the State of Texas for over 30 years. He has served as: little league baseball coach; coach C.S. American All-Stars; coach of daughter’s Softball team; player on city league softball team; coach little league basketball team; member of subdivision board (elected President two terms); Church board member; Sunday School teacher; VBS teacher; director of college ministry; and Grand Jury Commissioner (1990) and (2005). Dr. Luepnitz has served on the board of Texas Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and was president of this organization from 2004-2009.
Dr. Luepnitz’s educational background includes a B.A. from Southwestern University in Humanistic Psychology; M.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi in Counseling Psychology, and a Ph.D. from Texas A & M University in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Luepnitz is currently licensed in the State of Texas as a: Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Sex Offender Treatment Provider.
From 1983-1986 he was employed by the Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority of Brazos Valley. Positions at MHMRA included: doctoral intern; Program Manager of Mental Residential Services; Program Director of Community and Family Support Services; Head of Quality Assurance; and Mental Health Director.
In 1987, Dr. Luepnitz started a private practice as a Psychologist to help serve those who are hurting and in need. He attempts to meet each patient where they are at, in a nonjudgmental manner, and help each one of them to gain the skills necessary to take control of their life. Psychological counseling services include: individual/group/marital/family counseling; forensic evaluations/assessments/consultations/court appointments (court testimony, child custody evaluations, competency evaluations, sexual abuse evaluations/treatment, sex offense evaluations/treatment, anger management evaluations/treatment, domestic violence evaluations/treatment, competency evaluations, drug and alcohol evaluations/treatment, psychological evaluations, and jury selection); and weekly groups for men and women struggling with sexual issues-affairs, porn, unwanted and/or inappropriate sexual interests, etc..
Current referral sources include: Past patients, Judges; attorneys; Churches, physicians, pastors, psychiatric hospitals, insurance companies, Federal Probation, Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice, and several Community Supervision and Correction Departments.
