Some of the names I know in this town do not take clients under 18.

You could try Glenn Bruxvoort, just off Texas Avenue, near Broadmoor. I know he takes teens (and younger).

I saw Dr. Roy Luepnitz for grief counseling after our son's death and I would highly recommend him. Here is a bio that I found on him while looking for his address:

Roy R. Luepnitz, Ph.D. has been proudly living and contributing to Bryan, TX; College Station, Brazos Valley, and the State of Texas for over 30 years. He has served as: little league baseball coach; coach C.S. American All-Stars; coach of daughter’s Softball team; player on city league softball team; coach little league basketball team; member of subdivision board (elected President two terms); Church board member; Sunday School teacher; VBS teacher; director of college ministry; and Grand Jury Commissioner (1990) and (2005). Dr. Luepnitz has served on the board of Texas Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and was president of this organization from 2004-2009.

Dr. Luepnitz’s educational background includes a B.A. from Southwestern University in Humanistic Psychology; M.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi in Counseling Psychology, and a Ph.D. from Texas A & M University in Counseling Psychology. We took the kids to see Glan Bruxvoort after a family trauma and he was very good. He did not drag out the number of sessions or anything like that. Offered practical advice and the kids liked him. If we ever needed to go back, I would not hesitate.

Dr. Kathy Duncan or Debbie Milburn would both be great choices to help with a teenage girl. I had an experience with Roy Luepnitz and was extremely under-impressed. Best of luck to you.

I am looking for a female LPC for counseling for my 21 year old daughter who suffers from anxiety and low self esteem. Any recommendations or suggestions appreciated.

martynurse, Rachel Vines at Brazos Valley Counseling is an LPC Intern (was a teacher and this is a second career) who is excellent. I highly recommend her.

martynurse, I highly recommend Donna Davenport in Bryan for those particular issues.
