Thinking of maybe changing to another orthopedic doctor for my knees. Anyone know anything about Dr. Jeffrey N. Spaw?

Based on the complications after he "set" my son's broken arm years ago, I would sooner go to a vet.

49 Doctors Disciplined

On 10-10-03, the Board and Dr. Spaw entered into a three-year Agreed Order publicly reprimanding him and restricting Dr. Spaw's license. The action was based on allegations that Dr. Spaw pled guilty to the felony offense of committing injury to a child by striking or pulling the hair of a boy and was sentenced to 10 years of community supervision.

Ok, thanks for the info.

I'll stick with who I have. Someone I knew recommended him.

Thought maybe I'd try home because I had been told that he did newer things concerning knees...

WOw! I had no idea. He took care of my son for a broken arm (surgery 1.5 years ago), and then again for breaking two bones in his other arm this year. I thought he was good with my son, and he had no complications. We were happy with him but were limited by insurance. His office is always full and I always liked the staff.

Yeah, he tried something "new" on my shoulder about 9 years ago and I will have to have the "old" type of surgery at some point in the future.

He's an egotistical jerk. Most orthos are, and honestly, I'm ok with that as long as you get the job done. I just cant look past what he did to my shoulder and I can't contribute money to someone that would hurt a child like that.

Dr. Mark B. Riley, MD is my families orthopedic. He is awesome. My son was hit by a car and his knee was twisted and his leg was turned the other way. It was bad. Dr. Riley did an awesome job taking care of my son and made sure he would walk on that leg again and he is! He runs and skateboards too.
