As part of our interviewing process we have you take a Math Literacy test to see what your proficiency level is >> So brush up on your Pre-Algebra and Algebra I-II skills and formulas!

what hours are you needing covered?

bqaggie86 > Right now it is primarily Tuesdays and Thursdays. but enrollment is going up everyday and I have a feeling that when 6 weeks report cards go out we are going to see a big increase in enrollments.

What details high school math? Geometry? Algebra? Trig? Calc? Probability?

Mainly through Algebra 2 and Pre-Calc.

Most of the parents we have talked to have 4-8th graders that are behind, lost, & frustrated... but we do see a few upper level kids.

Most of the applicants that we've talked to so far have had real trouble with the Pre-Algebra and Algebra on the literacy test.

I used to tutor math (sat, taks, sat ii, etc) in Houston before moving up here. I'll email you when I get back home. Sounds great!

I see the days you want but what are your hours you need tutors for?

Definitely put an ad up on jobsforaggies, and fliers in whatever building the math department is in, or any of the engineering buildings.

If you needed a science tutor, I'd be all over this, but alas, I am terrible at math!

Jobsforaggies will get you a to or applicants, but very few that are qualified. We used to do that for student workers but it because a complete cluster having to go through 200 apps for 3 spots when 180 of the 200 failed to read the qualifications etc.

Id ask the grad math department office. They can then forward the info via email or mailbox to all the graduate students that fit the template.

bqaggie86 > Right now our instruction hours are 3:30 to 7:30 Mon - Thursday and 10-2 on Sat.
Tue and Thursday seem to be the busiest days right now and that is when we need help right away. We are ramping up our marketing efforts and seeing good steady growth >> Plus other Franchisees tell us that first 6 weeks report cards is a busy time, so we want to make sure we have enough staff coverage that are familiar with our system and ready to go.

Teachers might be another source. I have a math teacher friend, in another location, who tutors, too.

Plus retired teachers.
