Those of you who know me, know that I really, really try to be a glass half full person. It is hard sometimes given my profession but I really strive to keep a positive outlook about mankind in general. That said, I had an experience this afternoon with a local business that I use on a regular basis that reinforced the belief that I have in their excellent customer service.
My man-children live in San Marcos. While they were here it was easy, we always have taken our vehicles to Brazos Valley Automotive. Now, unfortunately, it is a little too far for them to drive back to CS for vehicle repairs. Twin B has needed a little automotive work lately. The first time he took it to a shop in SM and they told him that some repairs needed to be made. I had no idea – vehicle repair and functionality is beyond me. Vehicles need fuel, tires and oil and there is stuff underneath that is greasy and it breaks-that’s my knowledge. Twin B called me and told me what the SM repair guy said. I called BVA and relayed the story to Gordon and he said it made sense and the price was fair. We got the car fixed.
Time #2, yep, Twin B again, was having brake issues and he took it to one of those places that send you a $20 coupon to get you in the door (against my advice I might add). And you guessed it, everything under the sun needed to be replaced, to the tune of $500+. He called clueless me and I had him call Gordon at BVA. Not only did Gordon tell him that it sounded excessive, he said he would call the SM shop in the morning and talk to the guy himself. BVA is closed on Saturday and Gordon is doing this on his own time, taking care of my kid, in another town just because. That is the exact reason, they will always have my business.
More thumbs up than I have thumbs to give to Brazos Valley Automotive for going above and beyond.
