I saw an officer assisting a guy in a suit on the side of Hwy 6 this morning. Great job! You guys take alot of crap, but it's nice to live in a town where your local law enforcement still offers this service to it's citizens.
I wrote a letter to the CS police chief the other day. We saw a man walking on the feeder road of Hwy 6 South. The man was in the worst absolute mental health and it was 97 degrees. He was about 60. My heart went out to the guy.
I called the non-emergency number and the police were there in about two minutes. The CS police were genuinely concerned (verbal communication says it all - I didn't hear the conversation).
I don't know the outcome, but the dispatcher and the police were impressive.
Recently I watched a kid's car die at a light. He rolled over to the side of the road and was checking it out. A CSPD officer pulled up behind him. I was honestly surprised to see the officer help push the car off the road into a parking lot. Then he helped check the car out for a bit. Nice work!
I think people would be surprised at how many cars we push out of the road. It's funny, my Daddy would have never thought his baby girl would be changing tires for people, much less pushing cars out of the road. I can imagine him watching me from above "saying girl, have you lost your mind." LOL
