can anyone suggest a good podiatrist or foot doctor for bunions. my teenage daughter has bunions. do the doctors always do surgery or are there any other alternatives?

Dr. Julie Albert over in the BCS Heart building by the Med Center. Great Doctor all around! My fiance had surgery on both feet for bunions and she did a really great job on them.

Please don't go to a podiatrist for this. Go to an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Barry Solcher is the only orthopedic surgeon in Bryan/CS that has specialized training in foot and ankle surgery. I speak frome experience.

+1 for Dr. Joseph Martin. Great experience. He was highly recommended and I'm glad I used him. I had the surgery four years ago and have had no problems. Excellent follow-up care as well.

poorgirl1 there are some treatments that do not require surgery. Only your doctor can make the definitive decision about the best treatment. Here's a link with some other alternatives. A teen with bunions is kind of unusual. Has she had any sort of injury to her foot?

+1 for Dr Solcher. I went to several podiatrists in town before seeing Dr Solcher. All they wanted to do was give me pain meds. Dr Solcher fixed the issue.
