Does anyone here have their kids in 4-H Sport Shooting? I am looking for something for my girls to do and they are really good at shooting sporting clays.
I am having trouble finding information about enrolling and costs... practice times... etc..
The site seems to be down that I need to get to.

Any info is appreciated.

A good friend of mine has a daughter that shoots skeet in 4H. Girls that shoot at her level are rare (grown men that shoot at her level are rare, she's incredible) and there is scholorship money out there if your kids pursue it.

Good to know... My 12 year old is a great shooter... first day out popped the target on her first shot >> then hit the next 6 in a row! They are both very teachable and competitive so I am excited about getting them both involved.

Do I need to sign them up at the 4-H place on Hwy 6 south?? or is the shooting club a separate group?

I was both a shooter and a coach in 4-H shooting sports in another county for many years. It is a great program.

Remember, they don't just have clay target shooting. There are a variety of shooting programs available so your girls can try lots of things to see what they like best. It is a sport that opens up scholarship opportunities when that time arrives.

My son does it. There is a brazos county shoot on the 14th of May also.

The shoot is costing us $95 then likely $50 in ammo to.

The 4-H office on Highway 6 South is the State 4-H Headquarters. I would recommend contacting the Brazos County office of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service (the parent organization for 4-H)at 823-0129. Their office is on Highway 21 (near 2818) in Bryan.

The 4-H year starts in September. Kids between 8 y/o and 3rd grade can participate. The Brazos County Shooting Sports Club website is:
