So, my 40th birthday is coming up in April and I've decided that I'd like to have some kind of girls' weekend getaway. I'm thinking of massages, pedicures, shopping, and maybe a fun restaurant. I love the hill country, but don't want to drive too far away. Any suggestions???

Galveston. The Strand. You'll love it ...
The spa at the San Luis in Galveston is pretty good... doing a pub crawl at the Strand with a taxi can be fun too.
Some friends and I are heading to Austin for just that. It is kinda close and has a lot of options. Tons of spas and shopping options, and I just like the overall atmosphere. Hill Country is great, but too far for me to drive for a weekend.
My house?
Hill Country wine tour with the limo to drive yall around. Then go back to the b&b for massages. Repeat.
Head to Brenham. It's close and lots of girlie things to do there. Antique shops, restaurants, Bed and Breakfast places. Then head out to Round Top and mosey around. Stop in at the Cotton Gin at Burton. Enjoy!
Dos Brias is close and very nice. A bit pricy, but you only turn 40 once, right?!
