Have to admit, I think I'm addicted to the new HEB. Right by the house, good variety, excellent staff, fuel and car wash, and good prices. I have no need for any other grocery or convenience stores as far as I can tell. One question though, do any of you sometimes get asked if you want a car wash, and sometimes not? Just started noticing that.

That happened to me last night when I filled up. I was waiting for it to ask me for one, but it never did. So I just went to the station monitor and bought one. I got the $9 wash for $6 with the fill up. I'll admit I'm becoming and addict to the store too...

There is at least one pump toward the center that offers some type of fuel additive...I declined that, but it never asked me about the car wash.

All of the other pumps I've used so far did not offer the additive, but did offer the car wash.

what I would really like is to not be hassled when filling up with gas.....

It SHOULD go something like this....

1) Stop Truck
2) Open Gas Cap
3) Swipe Card
4) Select Grade
5) Pump Gas
6) Replace Nozzle
7) Screw Cap On
8) Leave

INSTEAD IT GOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS....

1) Stop Truck
2) Remove Cap
3) Swipe Card
4) MUST enter PIN for DEBIT
or
5) MUST enter Zip Code for CREDIT
6) Answer useless do you want a receipt question
7) Answer useless do you want a car wash question
8) Select Grade
9) Pump Gas
10) Leave

So...you don't replace the nozzle or screw your gas cap on as a form of protest?

Yes, that extra 10 seconds it takes to answer those questions really eats into my day.

Entering a PIN or ZIP code is for your protection. It keeps someone from stealing your card and using it.

actually I keep people from stealing my credit cards. I don't need HEBs protection in this regard.

And those two questions combined with the effort of having to enter the information is extremely annoying.

Yep, that receipt question is useless ... ESPECIALLY when you are going to be reimbursed for fuel purchases (fleet vehicles, private vehicles, etc).

if you need a receipt, you can go up to the person in the booth to get one.

No reason for everyone to always be asked if you need a receipt/want a carwash/etc

I do like making lists. Thanks for noticing.

Some people enjoy prose. But I like to communicate as short and efficiently as possible. Bullets points.....lists.....etc.

I like not having to go to someone to ask for a receipt and actually like the safety measures.
I also appreciate it and thank them when a clerk verifies my ID when I use a card or write a check.

HEB gas clerk told me the other day they won't take company issued Comdata (fleet) gas cards-even though they are a mastercard.

You usually make me laugh Blueteam, but given the fact that you like efficiency, wouldn't this tick you off if you were the one waiting for the pump?
