Any recommendations on where to have rings resized? I'm told that a wedding band is fairly straightforward but an Aggie ring is another story. What is a reasonable cost for resizing?

For a wedding ring, I would use Fling Jewelers on E. 29th st.

For the Aggie Ring, I would strongly recommend going through the Assoc. of Former Students to have it resized. http://www.aggienetwork.com/ring/repair.aspx

Go through the Association for the Aggie ring. You'll pay shipping ($15 last time I checked) and they'll resize it under warranty. If the ring needs to be remade beyond what can be done by simple resizing, they'll recast it for something like $75.

Howdy, zbeagle.

The link Ringrit gave above (http://www.aggienetwork.com/ring/repair.aspx) is a great place to start. You'll find what you need to know about resizing your Ring, including info on how to send your Ring directly to Balfour for resizing. You can also find the pricing info.

You can also drop your Ring off at the Alumni Center. The Ring Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8-5. And since so many Aggies come from out of town for football games, we also have staff on duty on Game Days at the Alumni Center to accept Rings for resizing and repair. For 6 p.m. games, they are on duty from 1:30 to 5:30.

If you still have questions, just e-mail us at AggieRing (at) AggieNetwork (dot) com.

If I had a jeweler resize my wife's ring will you guys still work on it?

Sure, Comeby. However, whenever a jeweler other than Balfour works on an Aggie Ring, it voids the manufacturer’s warranty*, so her Ring won't be eligible for the free lifetime resizing that is offered for any Aggie Ring manufactured in 1972 or later. A repair fee will apply. That's a good reason to have any resizing or other work done by Balfour.

(* To see what all is covered by Balfour's warranty -- repair, resizing, restoration, cleaning, polishing, etc. -- go here: http://www.aggienetwork.com/ring/policies/balfourwarranty.aspx)

Chuck from Fifth C resized my Aggie ring this summer and did a great job. Nice guy too. He posts here often and is a texags supporter.

I had my Aggie ring and wedding ring resized a few years back. Take your ring to the Association offices and they will send it off to Balfour for you.

Chuck at Fifth C did my wedding ring. He was super nice and did a great job!
