Many of you have expressed interest in helping with the cost of getting cats in our area spayed and neutered. Now is your chance to help. In August, BCS Spay Day, sponsored by Brazos Feral Cat Allies and the Brazos Animal Shelter spayed nearly 100 cats in our community FOR FREE!! Customers were identified as those who could not afford to pay for the spay/neuter themselves.
We have a second spay day planned in November and we need donations to help defer the costs. The more cats we spay/neuter, the fewer strays/ferals are wandering our community and are dropped off at our shelter.
For $50, you can sponsor a spay/neuter. If you are interested, please make a donation to BFCA, PO Box 10738, CS, 77842. You will be mailed a receipt. BFCA is a 501(c) 3 charity. Please note that your donation is for BCS Spay Day.
We do plan to include dogs in the future. We are applying for a grant for dogs, but the grant requires experience with a similar program. Also, spaying/neutering dogs is more expensive. But do not worry, we will get to the dogs as they are the customers we really need to service since they are the majority of the surrenders at the shelter.
Please spread the word. Business owners, we would appreciate your help too, but we know you are already strapped. Any fundraising ideas are appreciated too.
Thanks to everyone!
