I heard about this a few moths ago, but nothing since.

There would be so many preparations for an event like that to take place on campus, and none of them are currently happening.

With that many musical acts alleged to be here, we would have heard something leaked by now.

I'm not so sure...one of the Kyle Field ushers posted on the Aggies Only board that they had been called to work for those three days, and he was wondering what was going on.

These are some pretty lofty goals. Largest fireworks show in history? Really?

Did you see the fireworks in Paris and Sydney for New Years 2000?

Did you see the fireworks for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics in Beijing?

Nevermind that we likely will be under a burn ban by then when you consider what our last couple of summers have been like.

Where would you even keep 100,000 bio-degradable balloons, nevermind filling them? The indoor practice facility?

I don't doubt that an usher said he was told to keep those days available, but this is quite an undertaking, and less than two months away.

My dad was asked months ago to usher for the event since he ushers for football games.... he mentioned some pretty big names but don't remember what they were off hand.

Kinda surprised not more has been released..... july is not that far off.

That website has no press releases newer than fall 2009. This thing won't happen. At least it won't happen near the scale that was advertised.

You're right. Per that thread on Aggies Only, someone in the know said the organizers backed out. Well, it coulda been fun...

Tailgate, you realize why AO is subscription based and is Aggies Only right? Please don't post stuff from there on other boards.

Wow. Tailgate sure did some damage there telling all of us non-subscribers that the organizers had backed out. Was that supposed to be some confidential Aggies Only secret?

You were right to call out Tailgate for providing info from an AO post. Info that is relevant to potentially tens of thousands of music fans and hundreds of performers from across the globe.

Now we know that the Stickas have secret meetings on odd Tuesdays in Steam Tunnel #5.

And we all have the PIN # to Rick Perry's debit card.

Good thing you put a stop to that before Tailgate posted the launch codes for the nukes.

Puh-leeze. I am aware of the nature of the AO board and use appropriate discretion when posting stuff elsewhere, but I didn't let any cats out of the bag on this thread. If the subject matter had been "There is a huge concert planned but it isn't public knowledge yet, so keep it on AO..." that would be one thing. In this case, that web page has been around for months. The fact that it ISN'T going to happen is certainly not "Aggies Only" top-secret material.
