I swear that our fridge as some sort of weird chemical smell...maybe like nail polish remover? I wiped everything down with chlorox wipes and put some baking powder (or soda) whatever it is in there. We have a side by side.

The fridge and freezer are working fine, no problems at all with keeping things frozen or cool. But I swear the food/drinks are starting to taste like the smell!

I called a local appliance repair place and he recommended pulling out the bins to make sure there is nothing behind there. He says rotten fruit emits a gas smell? Then put a saucer with 2 TBS of vanilla extract for 2 days.

I am going to do that and then have my husband pull the fridge out to make sure that everything looks okay behind the fridge.

Any ideas?

Throw away anything that is growing fur.
Do you have through-the-door ice and water?
If so, does it have a filter?
I wish C/S had Bryan water. It isn't bad. C/S water is pretty nasty.

My fridge had that exact smell --I found a rotten lime behind the bin. Took a while for the smell to go away.

A bowl of vinegar will help to absorb the odor.
