Sign up today for the Be Green in Bryan Volunteer Program, a free training class designed to educate residents on green living topics and enable volunteers to share their expertise with others.
Be Green in Bryan volunteer core training will be held from 9am to 2pm on Saturday, May 1st.
The classes are taught by City of Bryan staff and local experts. Topics include water quality and conservation, air quality, basic composting, recycling, non-hazardous cleaning supplies, water-conscious and chemical-free yard care, alternative energy sources and conservation techniques.
Be Green in Bryan Volunteers are trained partners of the City of Bryan’s Environmental Services department. “Volunteers will assist in the expansion of the City’s environmental education and community outreach program by providing other residents with simple tips for a greener, cleaner lifestyle,” said Mary
Strauss, Sustainability Programs Coordinator.
The Be Green in Bryan Volunteer Program provides 5 hours of instruction and attendees are required to complete 12 hours of volunteer service in order to become a certified Be Green in Bryan Volunteer. Participants should have an interest in environmental issues, enthusiasm for acquiring and sharing green living knowledge, and the time and willingness to participate in future educational activities and projects.
