I recently hired a guy to come stain the concrete in my home. He runs a small business here that does that. Long story short he did a HORRIBLE job. Not the color I asked for, rocks and grass sealed in, stain on the walls and baseboards, and a very uneven job. He was supposed to come fix it but I am pretty sure he saw what he had done and is avoiding me now. I paid him half the cost up front and would really like some of my money back and also make sure he does not do this to anyone else. Can anyone offer advise of what I can do?

File a complaint with the BBB and Angieslist.com also. That way, even if he's not registered, you can warn other's away from him.

Sounds like a small claims court case anyway... take lots of pictures and represent yourself.

Thanks for the replies. I am contacting te BBB and I will look into the other also. Looks like I might have to take it to small claims court...I have taken lots of pictures. As I write this I just get angry.

Did I mention that he just disappeared and did not finish the job? He left a mess everywhere! In additon to the things mentioned above he broke one of our fireplace tiles and stained his footprints into our walkway. AHHHH!!!
