We need to get the ducts to our air conditioning as well as the dryer vent cleaned. Does anyone have recommendations for a BCS company to do this work? Any insight would be appreciated.

The insight I would give you is save your money. The A/C guys I have used for years are not in the business of cleaning ducts, and while some circumstances may be different if you have a good filter system ducts don't need to be cleaned. If they are that nasty it might have happened before you owned the situation, put in some flex duct and move on.

We used Steamatic when we moved into our house about 10 years ago. The previous owners had multiple pets and the amount of dust and pet hair that came out of the ductwork was really amazing. It made the house smell 1000x better!

I highly recommend Quality Carpet Cleaning. They have cleaned our carpet for years and recently when our dryer repairman told us we needed the duct cleaned, he recommended them. They came out the next day and did a great job.

Marco, the owner of Aire Cool cleaned the ducts in one of our rental units, after some particularly nasty tennants left. The charge was $50 per duct. He uses a brushed vac system with a camera, so that he can take care of any particularly bad areas. He also checks for damage and will repair it for you if it can be reached. They also ran some chemicals through the system that clean the coils, etc.

I will say that after painting and recarpeting, the unit still had a foul smell to it. Cleaning the ducts and coils resolved the problem for us.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Our AC guy said our ducts could really use a cleaning, but their company doesn't do that service. I asked him if he had anyone to recommend, but he didn't really have anyone to suggest. Thus, I assume he isn't just saying that to drum up business for a friend or something. I'll give a couple of these companies a call and get an estimate or two. Thanks again.

I highly recommend Steamatic. Steamatic is the only business in B/CS that have technicians that are trained by National Air Duct Cleaners Assoc.(NADCA). As the person above said Kevin will take care of you.

Marco will do a good job and check for other problems with your system. I would rather have a trained air conditioning tech doing the work.
