Are we talking restaurant salsa or store-bought?

If storebought, the HEB salsa they sell in plastic bags isn't too bad. Get the medium. Its spicy, but won't destroy your lips. Best chips would have to be either the Tostitos Hint-of-Jalapeno (or Lime) or the Natural Tostitos.

If restaurant, Ozona's warm salsa always hits the spot, but their chips are sorta flimsy. Go with the greesy La Bodega chips/salsa combination for the best of both worlds.

Store bought - Xochitl chips. No favorite salsa. I like the Velveeta/Rotel/Ground beef dip.
Restaurant - Pappasito's chips and salsa.

In a restaurant, I love Jose's, Papa Perez, and Mi Cocina. All have tasty salsa and chips.

At the store, I have to pick up El Milagro chips. Thin, crispy, delicious. They live up to their name!

And for salsa, I like Salsa Divino by a brand that I can't remember right this moment. It's not very spicy, but even though I love spicy foods, this salsa has a nice flavor to it. Honestly, I like salsa, but my favorite thing on a chip is guac. La Bodega makes some great guac, but I like my own guac too.

Julios = full of MSG but they do taste really good.
Salsa = Make your own salsa because it's much better than the stuff that has been sitting in a jar for months.

Yep I used to sell them to the stores. One bag for me one for them...they are the best. I think ozona on harvey has some good salsa too.

Yes, they truly are miraculous.

And unsalted, which surprised me when I realized it. They are the best even without salt.

We're not picky about chips, as long as they're unsalted and corn-based, as opposed to the flour type that some restaurants have. We've never found a jarred salsa that any of us like, though we've tried many brands. We usually go with homemade, unless someone has the time to drop by Gina's on Groesbeck. We like how they use fresh tomatoes instead of canned. We have to get their largest size to make everyone happy.

Yeah yeah, I know, but for general everyday snacking, I like Pace Mild Salsa with Tostitos Scoops.

Julio's for chips and I like the On the Border salsa. You can get it at Sams in a big jar for 4-5 bucks.

everything Informed_Ag said. I also love Lupe Tortilla's salsa, but you can only get that in Houston.

HEB carries the salsa...but they hide it by the yogurt and sourcream....just look for this container

Krogers carries the chips...but not the salsa.

Booger County Salsa is by far the BEST salsa I have ever eaten!! Locals Jeff and Tina Hall make the home made gourmet salsa. They make mild, hot, chipotle and salsa verde.

Get a hold of them atboogercountysalsa@yahoo.com or 979-219-3886 (Tina) 979-219-5865 (Jeff) They have honestly ruined my taste buds for other salsas that used to be my favorite.

We buy several jars every time we see them!!

Julio's Chips are the best! Anyone know the history? "Julio" is a real person from Del Rio, Texas (my hometown). After losing his job (grilling steaks at a local steakhouse; it was closed) he began making and selling chips(many years ago). He would sell them in large buckets and then you would take the bucket back and they would refill the bucket at a fraction of the cost. You always got hot sauce with your chips. Then he began selling the seasoning that he used on the chips (yes.. loaded with MSG). To the best of my knowledge, his family still runs the business... we stopped at his warehouse/restaurant to pick up seasoning on the way back to CS!
