I'm only posting the score in the topic to let the reader know this is a post game "post".

More important was a fantastic, entertaining game where both schools and cities represented themselves very well.

I didn't see one person who wasn't having fun. I was surprised at the quantity and quality of tailgating.

This game has become a very big deal, and for much more than a football game. If you haven't been, make it a point to do so next year. Get out and see your friends, neighbors and the good people of this community.

Tonight's game was another example of why I love living here.

when did consol come to be? because when I went to Bryan we won 3 of the 4 at Varsity level, and never lost a game below it...

When did HS do away with Rivalry games as the LAST regular season game of the season?

the consol-Bryan game typically in the past was always in week 10 except in years Consol and Bryan were not in the same district in which the game was always played in week #2


ever since Kyle field made the switch to grass there has been talk of this game not continuing to be played at Kyle..around 2002 it was almost certain the series would not be played at Kyle..but the schools and A&M worked things out and thankfully the series will continue to be played at Kykle field...but it wont always be in week 10 due to A&M schedule..they have to play when the Ags are on the road and with the district scheduling.
a few times this game was played in week 10 on a Thursday night when the Ags had a home game on saturday

not sure when that was..but Consol has pretty much owned this series from the start.Im guessing you had to be at Bryan High around 1995 to 2000...as that was really the only stretch in which Bryan has had any success against Consol.
Bryan has only been able to beat Consol in back to back years twice in the series history..the first being the first 2 games of the series played in 1987 and 1988, the 2nd coming in 1997 and 1998, Bryan has never beaten Consol more than 2 times in a row.
On the other hand Consol has beaten Bryan now 5 times in a row, won 3 consecutive against the Vikes from 1990-1992 and again from 2001-2003.

Aggie, the 87 and 88 scores should be switched. Bryan rolled 55-8 in the first meeting and had a goal line stand as the clock ran out in the second. That 1988 game was the only one in the series not played at Kyle Field.
