does this mean that the apartment market in college station is officially becoming over saturated?

seems like it was bound to happen....

If I am not mistaken, Z Islander was not completely built during the rush for apartments and I believe construction still continues there. Now that everyone has settled and moved in to where they're gonna move into, Z Islander has more units coming online that are sitting empty.

I'm not sure what kind of market there is for grammy and grandpa to stay at the bright pink student apartment complex, but at least it keeps those units from sitting there empty.

that's kind of my point. at somepoint we were going to be overbuilt given the number of apartment complexes that are booming up every single year....

i wonder if we've hit that point of market saturation.

I have been wondering the same thing. I have seen all these apartments and houses (Aspen) popping up all over the place but I'm not seeing any go away. I know A&M is increasing in the number of student but not to the extent of the student housing growth. Does anybody know how full the apartments are across town?

CS has a huge inventory of apartments. I dont see the Z doing well for to long.

same thing over by where i live--they just opened up "the barracks" as upscale townhomes.

all of the new apartments, combined with the old apartments, combined with student centered living communities like the woodlands, combined with teh neighborhoods.

it seems like that these developers are vastly overestimating the percentage growth here in college station.

As a note, many of the old dorms on campus have been turned into offices and such. So many students aren't living on campus, so people are moving towards apartments.

On top of that, we're having more young professionals come here that need some sort of housing before they get their life organized.

We'll always need more housing, but I feel it'll taper off soon.
