Found some for Bryan FD that work occasionally, but that's it. Does anyone know any for CSPD, or CSFD? I've tried just scanning the range as well and came up with nothing.

Do you have a trunking scanner? If not, you will not follow CS or TAMU. You'll need a trunking scanner for that. If you want to follow DPS, or Bryan, you'll need to get a digital scanner.

Trunking runs around $200.00 and up.
Digital runs around $450.00 and up.

Give or take depending on the model you choose.

To follow CS or A&M you will need a trunking scanner. To follow BPD or the Sheriff or DPS you will need a digital trunking scanner. A couple of the sheriff's channels and vol fire are still on vhf and/or simulcast off the trunk system. Both CS, A&M and Bryan/Brazos trunk systems are in the 800mhz range. DPS is not trunked but they are digital.

hmmm, that sounds more expensive. All I have it a handheld uniden that I bought about 10 years ago to go to a race.

Use the above link. You should be ok listening to the BCSO with your older scanner. You can also click on Grimes County and listen to them as well. I pick them up here without any problems. Burleson County can be picked up also, but you might have to get a different antenna. I have a discone antenna that is mounted about 30' and I can pick up Centerville with little to no problems.

Check Ebay, Craigslist etc for scanners. Uniden released some new scanners this year, so you might be able to find some good ones a little cheaper.

Good luck

You can listen to Brazos County Fire online here (slightly different link than slyk posted): http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?ctid=2543

I also have this URL that streams to my iTunes, but I'm not honestly sure if it is the same feed as above or not: http://icecast3.scanamerica.us/tx_brazos_fire

EDIT: I think it is the same... Here is the description of the stream from the radioreference site:

quote:

Brazos County Fire:
(includes College Station and Bryan Fire, all Brazos County volunteer fire departments, and also covers Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties)
