I am the OP from another post about the best Steakhouse in CS. Looks like what I want according to the website.

Any reviews or comments AGS?

Excellent every time I have gone, but it has been a year or so since I last ate there.

They have chicken-fried bacon.

I like it - the owners had an ad in the paper within the past 6 months trying to sell the place. Don't know if that ever happened.

CCF, I call BS. YOU had them cater your wedding? I thought you were vegan or something?

I love their chicken-fried bacon, and it's OK food, but I think the original poster knows about Somerville Inn. Would any of ya'll pick it over S. Inn?

Nope, not a vegetarian, I just don't eat red meat or pork. I do eat poultry and fish.

I was a full out no-meat vegetarian for a couple of years but I gave that up and incorporated other meat after a while. I still don't understand how people can eat fattening meat, it's so bad for your health.

We had them cater chicken fajitas and they were delicious.

Czech Tex is definitely good stuff.

Never had a bad experience there. Never heard anything but good from others who have been there.

They are no longer open at night. Only serving a lunch buffet and doing catering. Their last night open was the weekend of Valentines. Owner said the economy had taken it's toll on them.

IMHO they were the best steak house around. It was a very nice, quiet, relaxed environment for dinner. I love Roadhouse but the noise is just incredible.

That's awful news. My buddies and I would go there whenever we felt like having something that wasn't ordinary chain food in town.

Heard there are new owners, not sure if hours have changed.

The story from the horses mouth...

I know Mr. Collins personally, the new owners have taken over 90% but Mr. Collins is still catering so he won't let you down there.

They are doing a lunch buffet right now which is excellent, and as far as I know they are open on some nights (call to be sure).

I personally think they are one of, if not, the best steak house around. Mr. Collins would personally check every table on Friday and Saturday nights to make sure everything was perfect and when things were wrong he'd personally re-make it from scratch and usually knock a few bucks off the bill.

He also said that he is going to be helping the owner in the kitchen some, so you'll still be getting his great home cooking.

the new owners have taken over full tilt. i had lunch out there the other day. the menu is changed up a bit. it was good, but not quite the same. the rolls were the same though. there is no longer a lunch buffet, it is sit down on the left side of the restaurant like it used to be.

So are they serving dinner again at night? That would be awesome!!

Really enjoyed the previous owners. They truly cared about their customers. Hope the new owners will do the same.
