For those interested, here are some short comments about our recent visit to Atami. The wifey and I were there during the early evening on V-day. They were fairly busy, but we were seated immediately. The place was very clean - moreso than some other nice restaurants we've been to lately. Noise levels were unobtrusive, and the lighting was very pleasant.

We both had a tempura dish, along with a sushi appetizer. All was prepared very well, and portion size was satisfying to both of us. It was the best tempura meal that I've ever had in a restaurant. The service was very attentive as well, despite the obvious increase in business as time went by. To top off a nice evening, they were handing out single roses to the female patrons.

The last few nice places we've been to have been minor disappointments, but happily that was not the case with Atami. Overall we were very happy with our visit, and we look forward to going there again.

I have really enjoyed Atami each time I have gone.

The only complaint I have is I was told they no longer had green tea ice cream. It was unclear if this was temporary or permanent.

by the way, I'm a big fan of Atami. hibachi good. Saki good.

The hibachi is wonderful! However, the sushi is sorely lacking. You get too little food for what you pay, IMO.

The lunch shrimp tempura bento box is very good and you get a ton of food for $8.95 (shrimp and veggie tempura, soup, salad, rice, egg roll, crab rangoon, and cali roll).

I've been pleased each time I go. I especially love the hibachi lunch prices!

My wife is very picky about her sushi, having grown up in Hawaii. Atami is the only place she'll eat sushi here. It's good.

The hibachi is great at Atami. Best hibachi in town.

I love it, a little pricy for College Station but not compated to anywhere else for the quality of sashami you get.

Yum yum yum I want some.
