I noticed a crack on my windshield after a rock flew out of the 18 wheeler in front of me as I was driving down the highway this morning. Now the crack has grown about 8 inches going perpendicular to my dashboard. Any idea where the best place in B/CS to fix this?

When my windshield was hit with a rock it made a small star blemish. I had safelite fill it in. It has not spread.

But this was my first experience, so I don't know if they were necessarily any better or worse than any other place in town. However they were prompt and came out and did the repair in the parkinglot of my office building. I thought that was pretty cool!

If it has spread that far then it's too late to have it "repaired". I would try Acme Glass, they may be able to stop it from spreading further. Good luck.

I was hit by a rock on Sunday when I was stuck behind an 18 wheeler on Highway 6. After looking closer, I noticed that the truck didn't have mud flaps which may or may not have stopped the flying rock. I ended up with a huge crack. I thought law required mud flaps on trucks.

safelite auto glass, or David's auto glass.

never used acme so not sure on them, have heard nothing negative about them though.

David's Auto Glass. Nice guy, comes to your house, and the generic replacement on my SUV was around $200.

AG Glass in bryan. Only $160 and did a nice job.
