My wife and I just purchased a 2008 Honda Accord from Allen Honda. We had a great buying experience working with CJ Iminephro. CJ is a pre-law student at A&M. If you are interested in looking at a Honda I highly recommend that you ask for CJ at Allen Honda. He works mornings.

I'm sure CJ is great but I would suggest Bob McGill... Our family has purchased 7 or 8 cars (Honda's) from him since 1982....I believe he is called Honda Bob here in College Station...

I purchased my first car and first Honda there from Honda Bob in 1984 and he STILL remembers me! I bought my second Honda in 1994 from a salesman I can't remember. I bought my third and current one in 2004 from Jack Neville. Except for a few glitches with the service department, I have loved the Allen Honda experience!

Had good deals with their service department too. The guy who is now their service manager worked his way up from a line service writer over the past few years and has handled some delicate stuff for me and some big stuff for me, including replacing half the engine for the high mileage service.

Here's another thumbs up for Bob! I bought my Honda from him and then the rest of my family members did too! I know I will definetly be going back to Bob.

We've bought 6 new and used cars from Allen Honda, most recently an '08 Pilot. The count would be higher (7 or 8) but we lived out of state for a few years.

Allen Honda is a great dealership selling great vehicles!

Not sure who I was dealing with there, but they were pretty much unwilling to make a deal on a CRV last summer. I went a couple hours away and saved over $1800 and got the exact vehicle I wanted.
Their service department has been good the one time we have been there.

We bought a CR-V from Bob in May. He was great to work with and took great care of us. Tony in the service department there is a first class guy as well.

I wanted to buy a Civic on 2003. We sat down to work out the details - I was told that "These are Hondas, we don't have to come down off the window price."

I also try to finangle free window tint anytime I buy a car. They wouldn't do it. Which, that's fine. Not happy about that - but, I can understand that position. As far as a lack of any negotiation, i just went to Houston and bought a car. And, that's what I'll do again. I imagine that if they have that kind of answer, they loose a lot of business to the Houston dealers.

They are willing to work with you on price now more than in the past.

I've bought 3 Honda's from Bob McGill. Best car salesman in the world. Period.

I have no complaints about Allen Honda's service either.

I've been very happy with the service we've had from Allen Honda over the last 3 years. I would buy my next car from them in a heartbeat if they only made a Honda with the features we're looking for but I will probably continue to get any non-warranty service done there even after we buy a different make vehicle.

I have bought 3 Honda's... Allen has never come even close to the price I can get out of town. Nice place to get a test drive though.

They don't negotiate much on price, from my experience. I went two different times this summer and test drove a CR-V (worked with Chris Scott - very nice guy, not pushy or annoying like some salesmen) but ended up getting one in Killeen. The "guy behind the glass" eventually came out and spoke to me a bit...when asked about lowering his price because I would be paying cash he replied "this is a Honda dealership, not Ford. I'm not going to argue a couple hundred dollars but I don't have a couple thousand dollars to play with" and went on to talk about how Hondas keep their value, but if a Ford drives off the lot and drives back it automatically decreases in value. Clearly not a Ford fan there!

I only saw Honda Bob from a distance, but never worked with him. I have heard amazing things about him!

This is why I don't look at Hondas. They are too expensive, and in my experience (and others, apparently) there is zero or very little negotiation. There are nicer cars that will run as long or longer for less money, especially on the used market.

Every car dealership negotiates.

1. Decide what model Honda you want.
2. Get a quote from Allen
3. Call (some people email, I prefer calling) every dealership within 200 miles, say you are buying tomorrow can you beat $x, where $x is the lowest price you have gotten minus a couple hundred. Last car I bought was a new Odyssey, the price difference between Allen and the place in Houston I ended up getting it was over $2k.

I tried to pay cash for a Civic from Allen but they told me that they "can't" negotiate off the sticker price (don't recall the saleperson's name). Obviously some people are happy with them, but I won't be going back.

Wife got a Pilot from there about 6 months ago. Bought it from Bob and he was the best salesman you could want. He worked the price down and we ended up with a better model at a lower price. I guess it depends on who you talk to. Get Bob to help you and I bet you get a better deal.

I'll agree with many other folks on this thread, great people to deal with but will not negotiate price (sticker or nothing). Went there a few years ago to buy our Odyssey giving them first crack, but left after that. Wound up buying ours from Jack o diamonds, at least 2k or more off. Honda Bob was busy with another person so we talked to some lady salesman at that time.
We do take it to Allen for service though, no problems there.

Anyone want to post their year, make, model, price paid, and date purchased for their Honda from this area (including Allen).

My experience is generally that people who buy an auto feel/believe they got a "good deal" from the dealer. Problem is, how do you know? Answer is typically "well, sticker was X, and they came down Y%" or something similar. Let's get a price comparison going here...

I'll start: I don't have a Honda.

My uncle just bought an Accord (i think). They had nothing but great things to say about the place, they couldn't believe the great service.

We have been buying cars from Palmer KIA--it would be hard to find anyone nicer than Wally at that dealership.

My folks have been very happy with the service dept. They had some problems with the CRV right away, which took a little time to sort out, but once it was fixed, they've been very happy. My dad takes his car there for all service, which tells me he thinks highly of them - he's a retired mechanic. He also likes the fact that they remember him when ever he comes in for service.

Our most recent vehicle purchase from Allen Honda (our 6th from them) was a 2008 Pilot purchased in Fall 2007. We didn't mention to the sales person that we'd bought there before but the manager recognized my spouse and gave us about $2500 off the sticker price. Financed it with Honda for 2.9%.

We prefer to buy local. Even if the cost is a bit more, it's important to us to support the local community.

Also, we usually expect to pay sticker price (or close to it) for the Honda vehicles we have purchased. Ours have been trouble-free cars that have had high resale/trade-in values. As a rule, Hondas are a great value.

This thread didn't exactly go where I hoped it would. I was simply trying to plug a sharp, young Aggie working his way though school. CJ Iminephro is a great guy and a great salesman.

If you are looking for a Honda, give him a call. I am sure that Honda Bob will be OK if he only sells 360 cars this year.
