After eating some jerky from Centerville, it started me thinking..what is the best jerky in this area..you can sometimes find some in gas stations that arent the mass produced crap i.e. jack links, oh berta,etc..

Meat lab on campus. Featured last year in NY Times as the best in the country.

Going to have to agree with the posters above me. Rosenthal on West Campus is AMAZING.
Readfield's has some darn good jerky as well.

Readfield's/Ruffino's by far has the best beef jerky!!! It is smoked and seasoned at the plant on W J Bryan Pkwy. The Chicken has sold it for years. I took my deer into Readfield's to have them process it for me. They made some venison jerky for me that was awesome and very lean.

Oshwaa, there are several 15 minute parking spots out in from of Rosenthal.

Just tried the Rosenthal beef jerky. It is very good.
After some experimentation I figured out the recipe and process for the rosenthal beef jerky. Actually very easy to make and contains few ingredients.

one_ag, couple years ago did a little browsing and someone in the agricultural school posted some paper online about it, with the meat, the brine, and the whole process.
yes, they have customer parking at Rosenthal.

Believe me or not, now I will say the final product is not exact but damn close, texture is the only difference. I don't smoke mine as long as a&m does.
