Giovanni's Pizza used to be where Gymboree's window is now. The Wagon Wheel also served beer when it was around. Swenson's had a place where that ice cream/fruit slushee place is across from American Eagle.
And of course, American Eagle used to be TimeOut, and in the 80s, that was the arcade to go to.
"Losing a corn dog place" doesn't mean the death of the mall, but it is a sign that the profitablity of food service is declining, most likely due to lower traffic. I agree with the above poster about spending a day at the mall with family, and eating there. Back in the mid-80s, whenever my grandparents came to town, we'd do the same thing on Saturday's. But now I loathe going there, just because there is hardly anything there that interests me. I buy most of my apparel elsewhere. And if I do eat there, it's Chick-Fil-A, just b/c in CS (currently) that's the only place to get it. It's kinda sad, but it is the going trend of malls declining.
