I'm trying to fabricate a homemade version of DD's pizza rolls.

Besides pepperoni and mozerella, is there anything else in the rolls? And, do they spread anything on the top such as egg, butter, or olive oil? Anybody know?

Well their Pizza rolls have just come out and they have sauce in them. However, their pepperoni rolls, just have the ingredients you mentioned. I believe I have aseen them brush some type of oil on them prior to cooking in the past.

My son's allergic to eggs and I can tell you DD does not use eggs in or on their dough.

No oil on outside just cook in oven till brown..

mmmmmm - we can even get them here. Luckily the manager here used to work at one of the ones in CS and they taste just the same.

Only downside is they don't do the buy 9, get 3 free thing.

I think they call them double dave's pepperoni rolls.

Yes maybe now there is only one now but I was there in the beginning as manager in the early 80's when they first came to College Station.

There was David Miller and David "Dave" Atkins if I remember his last name right. Skinny guy drove a black Audi. They had a split sometime after I left. Double Daves hadn't franchised at the time I left.

We used to have these little oven trucks that we would drive around campus and sell pizzas.

I always kept trying to get the Daves to sell the peproni rolls raw so that people could take them home and cook them fresh.

Thanks for that bit of DD history. I recall the trucks too... just not another Dave - and now the mystery is solved. Hmmm.... how can I convince my corporate buddies?... j/k!
