I am in the market for a 4x4 truck to leave at our property. I am thinking of something like a Nissan or Toyota truck, looks do not matter, in the range of $2500. Doesnt have to have AC or radio or anything like that. Just something I can get around in more easily.

Any tips on a good source to find such a truck? I know the obvious, cars.com, autotrader.com, etc. but any other feedback is appreciated.

I know someone in the DFW area that has an old 4x4 (or maybe 6x6) tanker fire truck they are wanting to get rid of. They bought it for the tank and don't need the cab/chassis/engine. It should be right in your price range.

I have a 1995 Chevy Z71 in good condition. It has the old four on the floor which in my opinion is the most reliable. It is a dark green color ready for a little camo paint. I would prefer a lighter truck actually like the Toyota or Nissan or one of the like. The full size ones are a little big for what we are needing.

I have an 86 Ford F-250 with rack, dog boxes, etc -it's at the lease in S Texas. Runs great.

I have a 1999 4 Door Tahoe 4x4 with cloth interior and 200,000 miles that is for sale. It has a new transfer case so the 4 WD is as good as new. The transmission is sound and otherwise it is a good truck with cold AC and good heat -- perfect for the deer lease.

Just thought I'd take a stab at it. If it were in worse condition I'm sure it'd be in your price range, but I can't let it go for that cheap.

I saw several older 4x4's on craiglist recently for less than 3K, I'm sure you could find one there.
