Wading belts...what do you use?

I am looking for a new wading belt and almost bought the "WadeAid" last week before going fishing this past weekend, but it wasn't going to be delivered in time before we left. However, I have heard this belt's best feature is also its worst with the floatation in them (begins to rise up on you as you get in waters deeper than your waist). After fising this weekend, we were wading chest deep and that had me thinking about what that belt would have been like in chest deep water.

Anyone have this belt and know if it becomes a pain when wading in water above your waist?

This belt has good reviews with great back support, storage, and a couple rod holders, but I don't want to be limited to use in certain water conidtions. Looking to get one soon, but want to see what everyone uses and what their opinions are on them.

go check out the belt at www.hooksetgear.com I like my belt from them has good back support. less expensive then the wade aid. the best is the stringer.
Tell them James Shuler from Port O Connor sent you and they will take $3-5 more bucks off of the belt. I know it is not much but its something.

I have a custom job I rigged up on my own belt system, with a drink holder, a tackle bag that can hold a small plastic box, a rod holder, and quick release stringer holder. It is on a 2.5 inch wide belt.

It is a lot like one of the prebuilt kits, except for the drink holder.

Get a WadeAid. It has some floatation to it if you submerge it, but it won't pick you up if you have any mass to you. If you're 160lbs, it might, but I'm a big 'ol boy, so it doesn't move me a bit.

The WadeAid is THE one best investment a wade fisherman can make.

I use the wadeaid, its good stuff. For all you over the waist waders, just watch where you step. I never go over my waist...NEVER. Way too many critters that cruise these flats in 4-5 foot of water for me worry about kicking. I would rather catch them on a line than play guess what I am on contact.

I agree on the WadeAid and it will also give your lumbar area some support. The angle of the rear rod holder is so much better if you wade w/ a 2nd rod.

I only wade w/ three lures so I'm not packing a lot.

If you need a lot of water and gear REI has what they call a Hydration Waistpack. They are very good and you can carry a lot more gear. They don't always have the best ones IMO in stock...they seem to have about three types that cycle in and out of the Dallas store.

A well equipped Shallow Sport!

Used to wade, now I try and stay in the boat. It is also closer to the beer.
