This weekend I was fortunate enough to get to go on a trip to Rockport for some duck hunting. I shot a real nice pintail and would like to mount it since we normally do not get birds like that where we hunt. Ive been looking at mounts online and know I want a flying mount but cant really decide what style. Any of you have pics to share of your mounts?

I have a double mount of two pintails banking in my place. I have had alot of compliments on it. When I get home this evening I will take a pic and post for you to look at. Every time I have done to a taxidermist with a duck/goose, I have always taken in a picture with me. I would never just explain to a taxidermist how I want a bird because it almost never comes out that way. Just my two cents.

Why didn't you come and see me? My taxidermy studio is in Aransas Pass. Class of '91. I mount about 75-100 Pintails a year and do them in a variety of ways. Call me at 361-758-7878 if you are looking for one of the best waterfowl taxidermists in the country. Brian

If I ever kill a pintail, this is the mount I want.

Mneish, that is the best pintil mount I have ever seen. Do you know who mounted it?

that is a bad ace job. I also like the preening mount for a pintail.

Here are the two pintails I was telling you about. I took several shots so that you can see them from different angles. I like the above pintail mount with the base, but the only problem with that angle is that you lose alot of the marroon/green colors that are on the back of the wing.

Another mount just for sh*ts and giggles.

His name is stuffinducks from over at www.refugeforums.com. Heres a direct link to the topic, http://www.refugeforums.com/refuge/showthread.php?t=490903&highlight=stuffinducks, you might have to join in order to see it, I am not sure. All I know is that its the best pintail I have ever seen, and if and when I shoot one that is exactly how I want it done.

That pintail on the base is incredible. I keep waiting on the right pintail to get one mounted. I shoot them every year, but I need a late season (bright color) bull sprig that doesn't get torn up by the shot or the dog... Only three more weekends to try this year, although I did get a perfect bufflehead to mount already and it is waiting in my freezer.
