Figured I'd give a shout-out to my daughter's middle school makerspace teacher up here in Alaska. Back when I was in school, we called it woodshop or metal shop. Now it's "makerspace," which sounds a little cringy to me, but the projects they're doing are pretty awesome.

This year, the kids are making deer calls and building their own bows. My 7th-grade daughter is taking the class and is already halfway through her bow construction.

Her teacher puts together some really good YouTube videos for the kids to follow along with. The production quality is surprisingly good, and it's a shame they're not getting more views. Alaska's education system has its challenges, but I love seeing teachers getting kids involved in hands-on projects like these.

Figured the Outdoor Board might appreciate his channel. There's multiple fun project to tackle yourself or with your kids. He's adding more as the school your progresses.
