Outdoors because it's for elk camp. Needed last 2 week of October. Our normal contact fell thru but we still have time to pivot.

Will gladly pay to rent trailer from private individual before contacting various rental companies but wanted to reach out for suggestions either way. Hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction! I'm just north of Houston near Tomball.

Thanks in advance!

I saw some u haul trailers at trailheads and blasting up and down i-25 this weekend that were obviously being used by hunters!

Unpossible on the U-Haul. Everybody knows they only do 55, you'll never get there.

We rented one for a spring break trip to the Grand Canyon when I was a senior. We asked the uhaul guy about the "45 mph speed limit" on the trailer and he said "that is just the limit on how fast we are allowed to drive them in the parking lot."

Yea I never paid attention the few times that I've rented one but always remembered that. Kudos to those guys that can achieve 45 in their lot, I'd like to watch.

I have rented a few of those trailers, usually go about 70 to make sure they work properly

Gotta knock the rust off the axles to make sure you get the best mpg while towing them.

I'm curious: do you run the chest freezer all the way back home? If so, I guess that requires a generator. And if that's true, safe to say you are careful with the carbon monoxide buildup in the trailer. Is there ventilation requirements of the trailer or do you just open the door and then stay away from it for a while to air out?

Last big u haul move I made I kept my full chest freezer at the rear of the trailer with an extension cord by the door, plug in at stops if it's hot, just plug in at hotel otherwise. They are very well insulated

I did the same thing when we moved from Texas to Virginia. I might have thrown some dry ice in the freezer when we got started, then plugged it in overnight once or twice over the 5-day roadtrip.

Everything stayed frozen solid.
