Anyone displaced from the Ross fire in palo pinto and now jack counties? They are saying 0% contained and now 50,000 acres and growing

This is one of the fastest growing fires I've ever paid attention to. Not affecting our family place 90 miles SW, but praying for all those affected.

Longhorn Council's Worth Ranch is in the middle of it, and they've likely lost their main camp and structures.

I'm waiting to see if Rocker B Ranch was taken out. That is a really cool place that is very important to little league baseball. If the maps are right, it looks like it was in the middle of it. Sad

Boat racing is like a beautiful woman.......expensive, high maintenance, but well worth the fun!

From their most recent update:

Quote:

First and foremost, we are grateful to report that there were no Scouts, campers, or guests on the property when the fire entered the area. Additionally, Pat Adams, the Camp Ranger, was safely evacuated.

While damage assessments are still ongoing, we can confirm that multiple structures at Worth Ranch have sustained catastrophic damage. The full extent of the impact will not be known until emergency officials determine it is safe to enter the property and conduct a thorough evaluation.

Have a friend that has a big high-fence ranch south of Jacksboro off Hwy 4. They've been telling him it was contained and everything was good until about 30 minutes ago when they called him and said they've lost containment and are abandoning all their equipment. They wouldn't let him come get his animals earlier today. He probably going to lose all of them. Sad.

I watched a helicopter flyover of Worth Ranch a little while ago, it doesn't look good at all, just glad no one was hurt.

Any updates from Jacksboro folks? Looks like there's a little rain in the area.

Nothing worse than seeing the burned up carcasses of animals trapped in high fence ranches

Just got some before and after photos of a friend's deer lease. Out of respect for privacy, I won't post them, but man...just utter destruction.

Everything just piles of ash and debris.

Agreed. He got lucky. Half of his ranch burned up but they had the other half to run to. He found one dead fawn.
